The super-light, innovative Columbia Women’s Peak Power II 3-layer shell lets you venture into the majesty of wet territory, such as the Pacific’s Temperate Rainforest and the enduring green to be found there, without the rainfall ruining your visit.
The Columbia Women’s Peak Power II jacket is outfitted with Omni-Dry, the brand’s highest level of waterproof/breathability. This includes an ultra-light laminate membrane that’s over 50-percent air, making this jacket insanely breathable and lighter than other 3-layer shells. Underarm vents that zip open to further disperse excess heat, with 2-way zipper pulls that allow you to customize this amount of ventilation. A lapel tab connector lets you completely unzip your jacket and then fasten it closed at the chest for max ventilation without loose flaps. And a sticky, silicone treatment at each shoulder both protects against the abrasion of your pack straps and keeps them from slipping and sliding around. Laser-cut Invizzip zippers on the hand pockets are clean and discreet, and a waterproof front zipper provides added wet-stopping reinforcement.
The most breathable waterproof technology designed to keep you dry during highly aerobic activity, whatever the weather. This extremely air permeable waterproof fabric transfers the moisture vapors you generate out of the garment at an extremely high rate, while still shedding the elements in the worst conditions. Omni-Dry is the ultimate in waterproof technology for the outdoors. During physical activity, increased body temperature can cause perspiration. In garments with low breathability, this results in condensation causing the wearer to feel damp, clammy or even wet. This is often mistaken for leaky or faulty construction, and is always uncomfortable. With Omni-Dry®, air is able to circulate through the fabric, helping to regulate the conditions in the garment and keep excess moisture from collecting inside, while still maintaining its wind blocking properties. This is achievable because the Omni-Dry® membrane is highly air permeable (100cc/minute vs. 0cc/minute for Gore-Tex®) and extremely thin and lightweight (7 grams per yard vs. 40 grams per yard in Gore-Tex®).
